"The Amazon was inspired from a trip to Brazil. Imagining the clattering of the Iguazu Falls as a tribal chant was the idea that led to the loud choir chants that recur throughout the song. The incessant chirping of crickets against the backdrop of the Iguazu Falls in the distance was something I felt I had to capture, so I recorded the audio with my microphone. When I was producing the music for Amazon, I knew that the sound of these live insects and live recorded birds, infused with electronic beats would fit great. Using my contemporary classical background, I weaved in a string ensemble and a vibraphone in an electronic style to capture that dreamy atmosphere I felt on my trip to Brazil.
